Allison Ash, RN
I am truly honored to recognize Allison, not only for her clinical excellence and for teaching me, but for the profound humanity she brings to every aspect of her work.
We have stood side by side in some of the hardest moments this profession has to offer-caring for patients at the end of their lives, supporting families through loss, and facing the emotional weight that comes with it. In those moments, when things felt heavy and sometimes overwhelming, Allison was a steady presence and someone I could lean on. She showed me the ropes with patience and honesty, helping me grow not just in skill, but in strength and understanding.
What sets Allison apart is the way she cares for both patients and the people around her. I have watched her provide comfort and dignity to patients in their final moments, ensuring they were never alone, never just a task to complete, but always treated as a person who mattered.
She extended that same compassion to our team. She checked in on me when the shift was over, when the adrenaline faded and the reality of what we experienced set in. She made sure I was okay-mentally and emotionally-not because she had to, but because she genuinely cares.
In situations where it would be easy to become hardened, Allison remains deeply compassionate without losing her strength. She creates calm in chaos, offers reassurance when it's needed most, and leads by example in the quiet, meaningful ways that truly define nursing.
Working alongside Allison has shaped me in ways I will carry throughout my career. She has made an impact not only on her patients but on those of us lucky enough to learn from her.
