From the night of delivery until our last full day in this unit, Allessandra was an absolute angel to our family. She was always so caring and attentive to our child. She genuinely treated him as her own. Every day she went above and beyond by not only ensuring our child was happy but always making sure I was taking care of myself as well. This was one of the hardest times and whenever I was having a hard day, she was always there to pick me up and give me words of encouragement so I could show up for my son every day. Every shift, she made sure to call me and update his condition and the plan for the day. She made sure to educate other nurses coming in on his history, so they were in the best position to care for my son. She always made us feel comfortable and welcome at the hospital. Knowing she was there with him made it just that much easier to go home to rest and take time for ourselves. After a couple of months, I really broke down and she sat with me for close to an hour. With the experience she has, as a mother of a child with medical issues and a nurse, she was able to connect with us on a completely different level. It was a blessing to have her by my side during our hospital stay and I believe anyone would be lucky to have her as their nurse.
