Ali is always going above a beyond for the patients she serves within GI/IBD. Recently, we were working with a patient and her family in regards to paying for a needed medication. Ali completed numerous Patient Assistance Applications for the family and ensured they arrived via fax. She spent hours on the phone with the patient assistance plans, talking about the patient. She was instrumental in getting the physicians to write a letter of financial hardship on behalf of the patient and her family. She did all of this while also staying in constant communication with the family and exploring alternative medications and assistance plans with the family. She does all of this because she truly cares for her patients and their well-being. This is just one family that Ali did all of this for. There are countless other families that she is going above and beyond for on a daily basis as well. She helps families make transportation arrangements, ensures they know and understand their diagnosis, has made handouts/flyers explaining the IBD process and next steps, and the list goes on. Ali is a fantastic nurse, and I feel privileged to have been able to work alongside her.
