Then here comes Aley. She’s the nurse who prayed with him right before he went on the ventilator.
Aleyamma Simon’s DAISY Story Taken from Facebook posting by a patient’s wife:

This is my final J update and probably the best one yet. Today I took him for x-rays at Parkridge, prior to his pulmonologist appointment. The check-in lady remembered his name and said, "Praise the Lord, he was on the list for so long and we all prayed for him daily.”

Little did I know the x-rays would be taken right beside the MICU hallway at Parkridge where he was for 45 days. I got emotional, as we were literally 30 yards away from his ICU room. Then here comes Aley. She’s the nurse who prayed with him right before he went on the ventilator. He was under her care several more times during his ICU stay. It was amazing to see this come full circle. She talked to him about how they all worked, and how I worked, but God was the ultimate healer. As we are talking to her, a respiratory therapist starts getting on the elevator and she yells at him and says, “Do you know who this is?” She says J’s name and he says, “No way!! I first met you on 3 West and you said to me, 'Help me.'"

We leave there and go across the street to see the pulmonologist who did his trach. We got to see x-rays from today and compare them to the worst x-rays from the ICU. They were bad y’all. I had never even seen them. J was anxious about this appointment. It took a while for the x-rays to pull up on the doctor’s laptop, and when I looked over at J he had his head down, praying. His lungs look good! The doctor said Justin will make a full recovery by the 12-month mark. He will not have permanent damage, COPD, any of it. He doesn’t need additional meds and can taper off the ones he’s on. He just needs to keep walking and rebuilding his lunch capacity. I cried. Pretty sure J cried but I won’t confirm or deny.

He wasn’t supposed to live, and now here he is living and recovering. We owe so much to Parkridge, and I’m glad he’s slowly getting to meet those who helped him. In a time when all we’re hearing is “Trust the science,” at Parkridge, J was cared for by many Christian doctors and nurses who allowed God to work through them while they used their knowledge of the science. Thank you for all of the prayers over the past 133 days, for all of us.
