I would like to nominate Lexi for the DAISY Award because she is truly a special person who deserves recognition for her hard work and dedication to the patients she cares for. Despite playing softball for the University, completing capstone hours, clinicals, SIM labs and attending class she is able to maintain her composure and treat every patient with the care they deserve. I had a clinical rotation with her one day and I was in awe of the way she cared for the patients we had that day. She repositioned patients, provided oral care, and talked to each and every patient as if it were her own loved one she was taking care of. She helped me learn how to use a doppler and never made me feel bad for not already knowing how to use one. She walked me through how to use it, helped me find the pulses, and made me feel good and confident after that experience. One of the patients she provided oral care to without being prompted to, because she wanted her patient to feel clean and remove the gunk from their mouth to promote comfort. I had never seen someone so compassionate in their work for someone they had never met before, until that day. I truly believe she deserves this award because she is amazing and deserves recognition for being so special and caring towards others.
