She is kind, compassionate, thoughtful, and wholeheartedly works with all staff members, regardless of the situation. She brings light with her positive attitude to some of the toughest shifts.
Alexis always greets you with a huge smile no matter what she has been faced with. Her eagerness to help and be supportive of staff, patients, and colleagues keeps me speechless. Alexis takes on challenges and always gives 110%. I have had the pleasure working with her on the glycolic team, and watching her passion and leadership has made progress happen at the Wynn.
On a personal note, Alexis is a true friend who is there when your heart may be heavy and just needs me to pick me up. You never have to ask her to help because she can pick up when you are overwhelmed.
I am truly blessed to have her as a colleague and friend.

Alexis displays incredible leadership as a nurse educator. She is kind, compassionate, thoughtful, and wholeheartedly works with all staff members, regardless of the situation. She brings light with her positive attitude to some of the toughest shifts. Alexis deserves recognition for her hard work every single day.

Alexis continuously rounds with a positive attitude and a smile on her face. She demonstrates effective interpersonal communication with peers, staff, and students through demonstration of active listening. I have observed her continuing to answer call lights on the unit, participating in patient care, and assisting with workload on the unit.
I have been a clinical instructor on the 7th floor, where Alexis is the educator. Alexis is prompt to respond to any questions from faculty and/or students. She has formally greeted us with open arms, and has been present and welcoming. Even when I am not on her unit, she has continued to be approachable with practice questions to ensure open communication with the educators and instructors at the College of Nursing.
These are just a few examples of how wonderful an educator Alexis is, and provide the reason that I nominate her for the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurse Educators.
