I believe God put Alexandra (Ali) as my baby’s nurse that night for a reason. We were scheduled to be discharged the next day because my baby was seemingly doing great, according to everyone else who had cared for him. However, the night before discharge, Ali noticed something that changed — or should I say saved — his life.

She detected a murmur and immediately notified the pediatrician. Together, they took the necessary steps, and it was confirmed that my baby had a severe pulmonary stenosis. Had we been discharged as planned, he would have almost certainly died due to a lack of oxygen.

Instead of going home, we are being transferred for further care so he can receive the procedure he needs to set his heart up for success. Words cannot express my gratitude and appreciation for Ali’s attention to detail.
