When B was making progress, Lexi refused to go to lunch when it was her time. I finally had to insist she go, as Lexi was pregnant too.
My daughter went to Emerson Hospital to deliver her third baby. My husband and I (her mom) were there. The circumstances surrounding this birth were emotional, as she had lost her daughter at 14 months in her sleep due to SUDC two years earlier. When Lexi, her nurse, came in, she began her intake, and when she asked about previous children, we told her about our E. She immediately got up from her computer and went over to my daughter and hugged her. She told her she would take good care of her, and boy, did she hold true to that. She attended to her every need and made us all feel at ease. I’d like to think some divine intervention sent her to my daughter.

As a mother who watched my daughter and her husband go through the worst imaginable thing, all you hope for is that life going forward is as gentle and easy as possible. Lexi made that happen. When B was making progress, Lexi refused to go to lunch when it was her time. I finally had to insist she go, as Lexi was pregnant too. My daughter and I are both Registered Nurses, and we are well-versed in when a nurse goes above and beyond. Lexi is remarkable and made my daughter feel trust, calm, and supported.
