I arrived at Jefferson and was treated by your excellent Emergency Room team. After some tests, it was found that I had pneumonia. After several hours in the emergency room, I was taken up to my room. It was late, and I was famished and exhausted, physically and emotionally. When I got to my room, I was greeted by my nurse, Alex Aguilar, who did everything he could to expedite my care, immediately attending to my needs and asking if I needed anything. Being nauseous since the night before, I had not eaten anything all day. I was nervous, tired, and famished. Realizing that I had spent hours in the ER, Alex realized, without me asking, that I might be hungry. He asked me if I would like anything to eat. Giving me many options, I settled on the most substantial one: a turkey sandwich. While waiting for that to arrive, Alex completed my check-in in a very professional and compassionate way, then explained and began my necessary care for the evening. He answered all of my questions and made sure I was comfortable before leaving
