Alexa Fajardo, RN, MSN

I am honored to nominate Alexa for a DAISY Award in recognition of the exceptional care, compassion, and professionalism she provided to my father during one of the most difficult times our family has ever faced. From the moment Alexa was assigned to my father's care, she demonstrated a level of dedication and kindness that far exceeded our expectations. She cared not only for my father but for our entire family as well. During an incredibly stressful and frightening situation, she remained patient, attentive, and reassuring, taking the time to answer every question we had. She explained complex medical information in a way that everyone could understand, ensuring that we felt informed and supported throughout my father's ICU stay. What stood out most was Alexa's genuine compassion. She even took time to answer my 13-year-old son's questions, making him feel included and helping ease his fears. Her gentle spirit, warm demeanor, and willingness to listen brought comfort to all of us during a period filled with uncertainty.
My father was critically ill, and there were moments when we feared we might lose him. Through it all, Alexa's expertise, confidence, and unwavering commitment to his care gave us peace of mind. I felt completely comfortable leaving my father in her hands because I knew she would do everything possible to keep him stable and ensure he received the best care available. Alexa embodies everything a nurse should be and serves as a model for others in the profession. Her compassion, skill, and dedication made an immeasurable difference in our experience. I truly believe she was placed in my father's care for a reason, and our family will forever be grateful for the role she played during his most critical time in the ICU. For these reasons, I wholeheartedly nominate Alexa for a DAISY Award. She is exceptionally deserving of this recognition, and I cannot think of a more worthy recipient.
