I’m sorry it has taken so long for me to write this. I still can’t believe my grandpa is gone. I wanted to make sure that his nurse, Aleks, was recognized, though.

From the moment I got there from out of town, he was wonderful to my grandpa. Always explaining everything that was going on to us. If we had questions, he didn’t seem annoyed or bothered to answer. He always took the time we needed him to be with us.

It shows he really likes his job with how well he cares for the patients that come in. I am so thankful that he was there with me while my grandpa transitioned, that he didn’t just leave me alone in a room by myself while the most special person to me died.

While I held my grandpa's hand, he held the other to make sure that he felt so loved while he passed. He even comforted me after he died. I have never seen a nurse so compassionate in caring for their patients or their families.
