Nurse Alejandra was the kindest, most professional, most competent, and most thorough nurse I have ever encountered in any ER anywhere.
I am a recurring advanced prostate cancer patient with a six-year history of treatments followed by scarring leading to complete blockage of my urinary tract. This morning, I went to the Emory Johns Creek ER to be treated for the inability to urinate after several hours.
This was the ninth time in six years that my chronic stricture of the bladder neck blocked me completely, so I was noticeably upset and in pain. Having been treated by ERs in other hospitals with unsuccessful outcomes, I was expecting the worst. Nurse Alejandra was the kindest, most professional, most competent, and most thorough nurse I have ever encountered in any ER anywhere.
Nurse Alejandra was able to calm me down and catheterize me - something no other ER had been able to perform. She listened carefully to my extensive history with this issue and immediately made the decision to change the catheter size. The specific steps she took to complete the procedure included protective preparatory actions that no other ER took. The part I feared the most, catheter insertion, was completed quickly and painlessly.
I completed the remaining steps to permit my ER release in a conscientious and professional manner. Everything about this hospital was first class. I am beyond grateful that we decided to seek treatment at Emory John’s Creek and were blessed to have the finest nursing staff ever!
Thank you, Nurse Alejandra, and thank you, Emory John’s Creek, for setting the quality of care standard of excellence across the board. It matters!
