April 2026 Honoree
Aleah Case, RN
When I got transferred to Roanoke, I was worried about surgery. When Sunday came and the surgery was postponed, I began to worry more. Aleah Case came in that day smiling ear to ear. Right off the get-go, she was attentive while being understanding about the situation. As the week came, I got excited to see her because of how she won't sugarcoat anything. Anytime I needed anything, she was ready and eager to help. Over time, I got to know she has a twin sister that works here too! You can tell she has a strong love for family and care. For example, she sympathized when day four hit and they finally had me on the list for surgery. She let me know that the frustration I had was okay and I had every right to be. So, when I came here, I was expecting to be here a maximum of three days. Aleah reassured us that the hold-up was not okay and to speak up more. The day came and surgery happened. Aleah was there waiting to see if I or my spouse needed anything, and she had my favorite blue raspberry popsicle waiting. At the end of the day, Aleah is a kind-natured spirit. If I come back, I will be asking for her.
Thank you, Aleah, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
