Intuitive to the needs and moods of their patients they are reassuring, and empathetic, yet positive and encouraging.
As an end-stage kidney patient, I have weekly injections of Procrit along with Iron infusions now and then. I have visited the Outpatient Infusion Center every Saturday morning for quite some time now. I am now on Dialysis and will be receiving my injections at the Dialysis Center. Although it will save me an additional trip to OPIC, it is bittersweet, as I have come to enjoy the welcoming smiles, kindness, and thoughtfulness of 2 very special nurses.

Both Agata and Corey represent the best of us. Their professionalism, kindness, and thoughtfulness do not go unnoticed. Intuitive to the needs and moods of their patients they are reassuring, and empathetic, yet positive and encouraging. I would be remiss if I did not take a moment to recognize these beautiful souls. In advance of my appointment, they will have my hot tea ready and waiting with a package of Lorna Doones to start my Saturdays knowing I have a lengthy wait for lab results before my injection.

One week when reviewing my records, they noticed it was my birthday and unbeknownst to me they ordered a surprise fruit plate to celebrate. As small as these gestures may seem it is the little things in life that warm a person’s heart and puts a smile on your face regardless of the circumstances of the situation.

I have been unable to come up with a means of recognizing these 2 nurses as nothing seems good enough. I thank them for their many kindnesses and the excellent treatment I received. Please know that my experience with the Saturday morning OPIC staff has been a pleasure at Best! All of the nurses were kind and accommodating but Corey and Agata stood out amongst the crowd. They made an unwelcome situation tolerable and much easier to accept knowing I would have either of them caring for me. They certainly represent Northwestern’s finest! I wish them both the very best in their careers and hope they understand that their kindness and care have made my day on many occasions.
