I arrived at the ER with severe lower-left abdominal pain near my uterus. I already knew I was pregnant from a recent visit to my OBGYN, and the fear I felt walking through those doors is something I’ll never forget. But what I also will never forget—and what I will forever be grateful for—is the incredible care I received.

After further testing, it was confirmed that I was experiencing a ruptured ectopic pregnancy and needed emergency surgery. Everything happened so quickly, and while I was being prepped and wheeled back, Adam took over my care. Though I don’t remember much after going under, my husband has told me again and again how incredible Adam was, not just as a nurse, but as a calming, reassuring presence during one of the scariest moments of our lives.

Adam took the time to explain everything to my husband and helped him stay grounded while I was being rushed into surgery. He showed empathy, compassion, and professionalism, treating my husband not just as a visitor but as someone whose emotional well-being mattered just as much. My husband said Adam was “truly the best,” and I believe him wholeheartedly. He made us feel seen, safe, and supported during one of the darkest times of our lives, and we will never forget him.
