Thank you, Nurse Abdallah, for showing us the heart of nursing. You will forever have our respect, our gratitude, and our prayers.
When my father arrived at the Saudi German Hospital Dammam, he was in a critical condition battling high blood sugar, high blood pressure, and elevated heart enzymes.
It was a frightening time for our family.
From the very first moment we entered the hospital, Nurse Abdallah was there. He greeted us with warmth, respect, and a calm reassurance that began to ease the storm of worry inside me. His compassion was not simply in his words; it was in his eyes, in his tone, and in every action he took. He treated my father as if he were his own father, with patience, tenderness, and dignity, even when assisting with the most personal needs. In those moments, I could see that Abdallah was not just performing a duty, he was honoring the humanity of the person before him.
Over the next days, I watched him closely. At first, I thought perhaps my father was receiving special attention because of his age. But soon, I realized something much more extraordinary: Abdallah treated every patient this way. No matter their age, background, or condition, each one received the same dedication, the same attentive care, the same genuine warmth.
As a son, my emotions sometimes got the better of me. I worried. I questioned. At times, I misunderstood the medical process or felt frustrated. Yet, Abdallah never once made me feel like my concerns were unwelcome. Instead, he listened, he took the time to explain every step in detail, he guided me with patience and kindness, and he absorbed my fears without judgment and transformed moments of tension into moments of understanding.
What struck me most was how Abdallah went beyond the boundaries of his job description. He did not just “check on” patients; he advocated for them. He protected their dignity, defended their needs, and made sure they felt seen, heard, and valued. His professionalism was matched only by his deep humanity.
Even after my father was transferred to another unit, Abdallah continued to follow up. And when we were discharged from the hospital, he still reached out to check on my father’s condition. This kind of dedication cannot be taught; it comes from the heart.
Abdallah is more than a skilled nurse. He is an inspiration. He embodies the very essence of nursing: compassion without limits, respect without exception, and commitment without pause. He touches lives not only through his medical expertise but through his genuine kindness and unwavering dedication.
To the leadership of the Saudi German Hospital Dammam, I hope my words convey the depth of my family’s gratitude. May Abdallah be recognized for the difference he makes every day in the lives of patients and their families. May God reward him abundantly, and may his kindness return to him in countless ways.
