Her ability to make people feel valued, seen, and cared for is a rare gift, and I am endlessly grateful for her.
I wanted to take a moment to recognize a truly extraordinary nurse who has made a lasting impact on my life and the lives of my children. I first met her five years ago when I was pregnant and admitted to Labor and Delivery. From the very beginning, she stood out as the kindest and most compassionate nurse I had ever encountered.
Her gentle demeanor, calming presence, and genuine care made a difficult and emotional time feel safe and supported. Throughout my pregnancy, I was fortunate enough to have her care for me on multiple occasions. Then again, during my next pregnancy, she was there- always consistent, always kind, and always making me feel completely taken care of, no matter how busy the unit was.
She never rushed, never made me feel like just another patient. She made time to ensure I was comfortable, informed, and emotionally supported. What makes her even more special is that her kindness did not end when my hospital stays did. To this day, whenever I see her at the hospital or the medical office building for appointments, whether for me or my children, she always makes a point to say hello, give me a hug, and catch up. Her warmth and sincerity are unwavering.
Most recently, I had an outpatient surgery and woke up to find her by my side once again. I had not seen her in a couple of years, but it felt like no time had passed. She was just as caring and attentive as ever, managing my pain, ensuring I had everything I needed, and making my recovery as comfortable as possible. All while smiling and radiating kindness. I have never seen her without a smile or a kind word. She treats every patient like they are the only one, even though I know how busy and demanding her job is. Her ability to make people feel valued, seen, and cared for is a rare gift, and I am endlessly grateful for her.
Thank you for being a light in the lives of so many. Your compassion, dedication, and hard work do not go unnoticed. You are truly one of a kind, and I appreciate you so very much.
