My granddaughter was admitted to the NICU the day she was born. I came with my son while the mom was still in another hospital. Abbegayle was our first nurse. My son is a brand new dad. Abbegayle went beyond and educated my son on diaper changing, feeding, burping, and holding the baby. She would even compliment him in so many ways. She explained everything quite well. My son learned so much from her. Abbegayle made us comfortable in more ways than one. She deserves this award in so many ways. She also took such good and excellent care of my granddaughter!

Our daughter was in the NICU and had Abbegayle as her nurse many times. She went above and beyond when caring for our daughter. She did this by working hard to keep her calm and comfortable, talking to her while providing care, getting everything our daughter needed, and going out of her way to ensure proper care was provided even when it was very difficult. She also made us feel completely comfortable with everything that was happening during the hospital stay by explaining treatment in an easy-to-understand way and answering all of our medical questions. We felt like Abbegayle treated our daughter like her own child, and we felt completely comfortable leaving our daughter with her when we could not be present. Lastly, she also empowered us to properly care for ourselves by being present and explaining easy tricks to provide care while taking temperatures, doing range of motion exercises, giving baths, and calming our baby down.
