Aaron Wright, RN, ADN
I believe Aaron deserves this because, thanks to his actions, my life got saved.
The minute I got admitted to the ER in April, Aaron took all my complaints and concerns very seriously. Even though this was a long-known problem and he could’ve made the decision that there was nothing life-threatening again, and I would be sent home after pain medications like before. Nevertheless, Aaron took note my personal, cultural, emotional expressions and realized that things are serious this time.
He explained every little thing, every step of examination and treatment, and I felt really safe under his care.
Most importantly, Aaron advocated for my hospitalization to the ER doctor (who understandably was leaning towards discharge after some pain control). Thanks to his advocacy, I got admitted to hospital and fell under care of a great doctor.
I ended up needing an emergency surgery. I can not even imagine what could’ve happened if I was sent home that week.
So, I totally believe that God saved my life through the actions of Aaron, Dr. R, and all the staff that took care of me.
I believe that Aaron W. deserves this award because, thanks to his care, attentiveness, and advocacy, I am still here.
