During a six-week period when their director was out of the hospital, this team of four nursing leaders demonstrated extraordinary collaboration, accountability, and leadership. Without hesitation, Misty Lovejoy, BSN, RN, Jasmine Knight, BSN, RN, ​Marli Mohammad, MSN, RN, and Rebecca Moore, RN, ​operated at the highest standard of excellence. Through their collective effort, they achieved zero hospital-acquired events, a remarkable accomplishment that reflects their unwavering commitment to patient safety and quality care. They also inspired and motivated their staff, leading to 80% employee participation in the satisfaction survey, meeting the organization’s target and reinforcing a strong culture of engagement and teamwork. In addition, the team successfully increased bedside shift report compliance, ensuring continuity of care and enhancing patient experience. Despite balancing additional responsibilities, they attended all required leadership meetings, followed through on every request from the Chief Nursing Officer, and maintained open communication and accountability throughout. This group exemplified the true spirit of nursing leadership—working together selflessly, maintaining focus on patients and staff, and upholding excellence under challenging circumstances. Their unity, resilience, and dedication make them highly deserving recipients of the DAISY Team Award.
