Dear DAISY Coordinators,
Happy 2026! This year, DAISY is focusing on YOU, on your role, and celebrating all you bring to your DAISY program. Over the past two years, we listened closely to Coordinators across programs of every size. What we heard was clear: as DAISY has grown, so has the time, energy, and coordination it takes to sustain meaningful recognition.
We also heard how deeply DAISY is loved, but also how a bit more support could make a meaningful difference. That’s why we created The Coordinator Calendar - a simple, month-by-month guide designed to spread the workload, streamline tasks, and take a few things off your to-do list. A small change each month will lead to BIG results for your DAISY program.
Follow along with our new monthly newsletter, created just for you, and complete a brief action to help strengthen recognition across your organization. Our most successful programs have more than one DAISY Coordinator, a strong team of DAISY helpers/ DAISY Committee, and CNO support.
This month, we'll help you grow support for your program, spreading the workload and giving you more time to focus on what matters- meaningful recognition for nurses.

As the nominations start coming in, set aside those for Nurse Leaders, Teams, Nurse Educators, or Student Nurses. We have separate Awards just for them!
Be sure to place your order early for Nurses Week!
Speaking of celebration… April 10th is Pat's Birthday, and we mark the occasion every year with Pat's Day of Joy.

Meaningful DAISY Presentations
Giving a DAISY Award is more than handing over a certificate or pin- it’s an opportunity to celebrate the exceptional care nurses provide and make a lasting impact on both the recipient and the team.
Are you hitting all the key elements of a great DAISY presentation? This month, we'll share what really matters to the Honoree and their unit, along with some creative tips and best practices.

Registration and Benefits
Registering a DAISY Honoree is an important part of their DAISY Award. Being registered allows Honorees access to their benefits, provides international recognition, makes it easy for your marketing team to share the Honoree spotlight, and more!
We've heard your feedback and this year we have made the registration form easier to complete and will email DAISY Honorees directly after you register them, to take the work of forwarding communications off your plate.

3rd Quarter: Support and Growth

We're halfway through the year and it's time to celebrate what you've accomplished with your CNO, and discuss where you could further use some support.
This month, schedule a short DAISY check in with your CNO to share what’s working well, any support still needed, and ways the DAISY program continues to elevate nursing practice and culture.
Your role of DAISY Coordinator is critical to the success of your program- DAISY is so much more than the amazing presentation, so be open about where your program is, and where you would like it to go!

Ready for Back to School?
As the school year begins, it’s also an ideal time for schools, hospitals, and other healthcare organizations to honor students and educators.
The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nursing Students, recognizing students who go above and beyond with compassionate care.
DAISY Nurse Educator Award, honoring nurse educators whose inspirational influence shapes the nurses of today and tomorrow across academic and practice settings.

A Field of Daisies
No matter which unit your nurse works on, they deserve meaningful recognition!
This month’s focus is an opportunity to check your nominations. Are they coming from all units, or mostly one or two groups?
Working directly with strong DAISY partner organizations, we've developed tools and suggestions for marketing across your organization to increase nominations- even in some of those challenging units!
