May 2026 Honoree
Sumayyah Memon, Bachelor of Science in Nursing
She made sure I felt understood and heard, and that my feelings and my pain were validated and that I wasn’t overreacting. Her presence had a positive emotional impact through her compassionate and respectful care of me as a patient. She would check on me every time & reassured me that I was okay, helping me feel seen & validated in what I was experiencing. That meant so much to me that I sometimes felt genuinely emotional. I was all alone in the hospital, but I didn’t feel isolated because of her… She is a true asset for UHS.
Thank you, Sumayyah, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
