When listening in on these conversations, what strikes me most is her patience, empathy, and helpful attitude.
Meg is absolutely amazing. Due to staffing difficulties, she was given extra responsibility to help coordinate care for patients within the epilepsy clinic on top of her normal duties with the stroke clinic. Numerous (>10+!) epilepsy patients have asked me to send along thanks to Meg for helping them navigate scheduling and clinic difficulties and to ensure they had refills on medications and were seen in clinic when they needed to be. So it's not one story, but many stories of Meg helping our patients ensure they get the care they deserve. She continues to go above and beyond for her patients and does so on a daily basis. She's every bit deserving of this award.

Meghan "Meg" Watson joined our team this past year and has been nothing short of a breath of fresh air. Not only is she extremely competent as a nurse and clinic coordinator, but she is hardworking, reliable, and always shows up with a positive can-do attitude. She spends countless hours on the phone with patients, talking with them about their care and needs and helping organize their management. When listening in on these conversations, what strikes me most is her patience, empathy, and helpful attitude. While Meg has received numerous positive comments from our patients since her time at UVA, one recent one sums up the atmosphere she creates for our stroke patients: "Every time I come (to clinic) they are lovely, caring people. Megan especially."

As a team member, Meg is alacritous in her willingness to step up and help her colleagues, recently taking on an entire population of complicated epilepsy patients to help fill an unfilled clinical need. Suffice it to say, Meg is a fantastic role model for us all as UVA team members, the embodiment of our ASPIRE values.
