February 2026 Honoree
Karen Ava Viera Lorenzo Maglanoc, Nursing
She was the evening-shift nurse who cared for my daughter, and she was incredibly caring and compassionate. She clearly knew what she was doing. During our almost 2-day stay in the hospital, she was the only one who introduced herself to us. That's why I won't forget her name, Karen. My daughter needed nebulization every four hours, but she refused to wear the mask. Without any hesitation, the nurse took the time to hold the nebulizer herself just to make sure my daughter received her medication. She did her job with so much patience and kindness — never once grumpy or annoyed. She made my daughter feel comfortable during a very difficult time, and I’m truly grateful for the care she provided. Thank you for the care you've given during your shift. God bless your good heart.
Thank you, Karen, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
