Linda Keenan is a tremendous and skilled emergency department nurse. Her practical and knowledgeable approach is reassuring for the patients, staff and providers. Working with Linda means working with a partner who provides the best care in a consistent and unflappable manner. In the emergency department, issues and stresses can include time to care with waiting for rooms, staff, providers and/or services, along with an uncertainty of illness or injury. Working with Linda ensures that care, whether minor or major, is expert and efficient. She relates very well to families and patients, as well as to staff and providers. In addition, she is fun to work with. I know all of our medical providers enjoy and appreciate their interactions with Linda and look forward to their time working together!

Linda is, without a doubt, our best nurse preceptor. She deserves this distinction not only for being willing to be available to help teach others, but for her consistent, ethical, and policy-driven practice. Linda is a strong role model on the unit for professional integrity, accountability, and follow-through. She takes complete ownership of her new hires from day one all the way through to the end. She shows them how to really connect with patients and their families, advocating for their needs and showing them genuine respect. Linda does all of this with a very positive attitude and smile.

I am always impressed by Linda's gentleness and kindness with her patients and families. She seems to know just the right thing to say to put them at ease, from the moment they walk in the door. She takes the time to explain well what they should expect. She is thoughtful and goes the extra mile to keep them comfortable. She is a competent nurse who delivers her care efficiently and well. She is also very easy to work with and a team player. She has a positive energy surrounding her, and the work area seems a little lighter when she is there. She is collaborative and helpful. I feel like we are partners in the child's care. If she has concerns, she expresses them clearly and professionally, and in a non-confrontational way.
