When I went to the ER in January, I was unsure if I was really having contractions or if they were Braxton Hicks, not the real thing. I had been to the ER a few times before that day unsure if my water had broken or if I was in labor or not. You see, I am 18 and this is my first baby. I had never been through this before and wasn't sure what was going on. I had no support from either of my parents, but my loving aunt was always by my side.
Hollie was so sweet, calm, and comforting to us. Her words and actions were so kind and she treated me like I was important to her! She went out of her way to take care of me and keep me posted as to what was happening with me, even though there were several other patients in the ER at the time. Holly was very high energy, competent, and caring the entire time I was in the ER. She took care of me better than I had ever been taken care of on any other visit here. Her smiles and her great sense of humor were much appreciated while I was nervous, scared, and physically in pain. It was obvious that she cared about me and my baby. My baby was born later that night and I am so thankful she is a beautiful healthy baby girl.
Before I left the hospital, Hollie came to see me in my room. She wanted to check on me and see my beautiful baby. That is a GREAT nurse, who didn't forget about me after I left the ER, but was interested enough, and cared enough, to follow through and come see me after I left her unit. All nurses should be as personable, friendly, and caring as Hollie. I want her to know how much she meant to me and how much I appreciate her!
