My wife D and I were greatly impressed with the high level of health care she was provided with by Alli Tyson during D's recent admission. Right from the start of the admission, we witnessed a high level of professionalism, compassion and comfort from Alli in what can only be described as a nurse who provided superior health care. During this hospitalization, Alli went above and beyond the call of duty.
D was transferred to St. Luke's from Kenosha due to some cardiac concerns the cardiologist there had. Alli was the nurse who received the handoff from Kenosha. It was impressive to us how she handled this handoff. She handled the handoff so well that it was like watching a wide receiver catching a pass from the quarterback and then run for the touchdown. And scoring a "touchdown" with our family she did. She did a commendable job in scouring through all the notes in the system to make sure nothing was missed. She also did a great job at communicating with the physicians in seeing that all my wife's needs were addressed. She regularly demonstrated a desire to make an impact any way she could.
Upon admission, D was experiencing an enormous amount of apprehension and anxiety from not knowing what to expect in undergoing a cardiac cath. Alli provided exceptional comfort and compassion to her. She assured us both that everything was "going to be okay". Alli was able to help successfully alleviate the stress and anxiety my wife had with her warm and gentle touch. Alli lifted her spirits in a profound way.
Alli was one who was highly attentive to all of my wife's health care needs. Alli was so attentive and so "on top of it" that D hardly had to ask for anything! Alli was a step ahead of my wife. Alli demonstrated outstanding bedside manner in providing a patient centered approach to nursing and health care. She displayed deep care and concern for our entire family. We found her to be very warm, friendly and down to earth. It was impressive how she worked together in unison with her teammates to make sure my wife and family had the best patient and family experience possible. She even went as far to check in on how my wife was doing on the days when she was not even assigned to her. Alli wanted my wife to know that she cared and wanted to check in just to make sure she was okay and to provide further support.
The mission, vision and values of Aurora St. Luke's were strongly evidenced by her. Like a freshly waxed car that reflects the car's shine, was what it was like seeing Alli shine in demonstrating the core values of Aurora in her treatment and care of my wife. We know that the administration of Aurora has high expectations for your organization. We want you and the administration to know that, not only were those expectations met, they were exceeded by Alli. Over the years, we have spoken with a number of health care professionals who have referred to St. Luke's as the "gold standard for cardiac care". After my wife's amazing experience at St. Luke's, we now realize that this is completely accurate, in part, to having great nurses like Alli.
During this hospitalization, not a single mistake or error was made that affected patient care. This is in part, due to Alli's great attention to detail. It is clear that Alli is a veteran nurse who possesses a strong skill set and talent. She is an "all-star" nurse.
Alli is a model of a great nurse. She is the type of nurse and caregiver every manager and hospital administration wants on their team. She is a great team player and a huge asset. It has been said that "nurses are angels in disguise." After meeting Alli, we realize why this is true.
Thank you, Alli for providing such high quality of health care to my wife. Our young daughters are also thankful to know such a great nurse like you was looking out for their mom like an angel.
