I arrived via ambulance about five weeks ago. I thought I was going to die. I was informed that I had severe pneumonia, The ERT team did a fantastic job and within 24 hours I was transferred to 4 West to start my recovery.
It wasn't long before the team of exceptional doctors and excellent nurses determined that my heart wasn't acting like it should and I needed open heart surgery. Thru all the procedures I have undergone one nurse stood out. She introduced herself as Sendy with an S. Not only did she have some of the coolest scrubs that I had seen so far, and that twinkle in her eye that gave me that feeling that Sendy with an S truly enjoyed her job. I only had the pleasure of being under her care for three shifts. But the way Sendy with an S went about the room it seemed to bring a sense of calming and trust that no matter what happened Sendy with an S could handle it.
It felt as if I was the only patient on the floor and by the comments, smiles and laughter the three other patients in the room felt the same way. Every patient in the room seemed to have that same sense of peaceful security. I don't remember ever having to hit that call button for her or it being used by the other patients those three nights. Sendy with an S just seemed to be there whenever I needed her. I only have one comment for Sendy with an S and that's keep up the great work, my family thanks you and I thank you. You shine!
