Audrey is very good at noticing changes that could be harmful to her patients and acting on her instincts to get the patient care immediately. Audrey's patient had a very subtle drag in his leg. She asked about it and even his wife did not notice the acute change. Audrey did not ignore her assessment and called the physician to ask for a CT Scan. The patient ended up having an acute brain hemorrhage and midline shift. Neurosurgery was consulted and the patient was moved to ICU. With Audrey's thorough assessment skills and excellent critical thinking, she was able to save this patient's life. This could have been easily missed and the outcome could have been worse. Now the patient can get the care he needs. Audrey was focused on meeting the needs of her patient and did not let anything stop her. Audrey is an extraordinary nurse who deserves the DAISY Award.
