Emily, you are amazing nurse. You have the sweetest, most caring spirit of anyone I have ever met. Over the past 4 nights, the way you have cared for me has been unbelievable. You were gentle, kind, caring, and concerned. You always took time to listen, after you listened you made suggestions and or ordered other plans/solutions. Every time you came into my room I felt like I was your favorite patient, I was your most important patient and I felt like I was the only patient on this floor. You always have a smile on your face and you are always in a cheery, positive mood. You helped me believe that I can get through this. You offered words of encouragement and one time you just bent down and hugged me. It was the most perfect sentiment of encouragement you could have given me. Then today you called me to say bye because you weren't able to see me to say goodbye. I really felt important.
Your job as a nurse is so many things and while I know nothing about the medical side of it, I do know the personal side of it. To me as a patient, the personal side matters. How I am made to feel while lying in that bed thinking about having to push that button and have you come to my room for me can be a bad experience if the nurse you are calling is frustrated or upset or just feeling the pressure of the day, but you were never that nurse. You told me to call anytime, you walked by my room and would ask if I was okay or if I needed anything. Never once while having you as a nurse did I ever worry about pushing that button or calling you. That's probably why you are so busy, because all your patients know that you will come in with a smile and a genuine willingness to help no matter what it is.
Emily, thank you so much for being such a nice person. Thank you so much for taking such good care of me. Thank you so much for caring for me like I was a friend instead of at patient at your job. You have every quality a great nurse should have. You are awesome at your job and you are needed in this profession, so again thank you so much, I appreciate how you treated me in here, very much. I'll never forget the best nurse I ever had.
