Wanted to again share how very impressed (but not surprised) I was by the excellent care and compassion given to Mr. M. He often commented about how wonderful the staff was in caring for him. I witnessed firsthand the day of his discharge. I was on the division quite some time that afternoon. Staff were exceptionally patient in teaching and making sure all wound issues were taken care of for discharge. I had to briefly leave the division, and Kristin took the time to find the ambulance forms from my stack of papers to give to the crew, so there would be no delay. At the time of discharge, several staff that had cared for him went into the room to say goodbye. He so appreciated those gestures of concern and kindness. The division really supported him during a very difficult time in his life. While on the division Diane and Kristin were also very patiently looking after an elderly man with dementia. Kristin helped him look for a phone that he didn't even have. All of this was done with respect and compassion. It had been a long day for me, but I was in no hurry to leave, as I so enjoyed observing excellent care being provided by everyone. D.J., Social Services
