Yolanda went above and beyond to help me feel comfortable during the birth of my baby girl. I don't know what I would have done without her gentle coaxing during an exhausting labor. There were a few times I wanted to give up, but she kept reassuring me with just the right amount of compassion and love. She also knew when I needed a break and not to push me any more at that time - nurses' intuition! She also did an amazing job reassuring my husband. I was also anxious about being a patient since I am also an employee. Yolanda maintained confidentiality and professionalism better than I could have ever imagined. She gave me just enough privacy when I needed it, but was right there to reassure and assess. As a new mom, I had a ton of learning to do, even though I had "read all the books!"
Yolanda was gentle, compassionate, and sincere when helping me start the journey to motherhood! She made me feel comfortable and empowered - which is incredibly important during labor. One vivid example I remember is after our baby was born and we were having our skin to skin time. We wanted to simply reposition baby but my husband and I were both a bit scared to move this tiny human! We were a bit embarrassed to ask Yolanda for help, but when we did, she didn't make us feel embarrassed at all! She gave us the reassurance and confidence we needed!
