It was because of Trisha's persistence and loving way of challenging myself to get better all while being there with me every step of the way while I made strides of improvement on her shifts!
I have been on that unit for almost the past month, and in that time I had the privilege of being taken care of by this wonderful nurse whom I can only describe as an Angel that God sent me during the most difficult time of my life. Trish took the time to be with me during the scariest time of my life! She sat with me while I was experiencing the worst pain ever from having meningitis and peritonitis. She put the relaxation channel on and had me close my eyes while she helped me imagine I was in a place that was relaxing and calming while providing a soothing touch on my forehead. I can’t tell you how much this meant to me, to my family!

She is truly like no other nurse I have met before, from then on out I trusted her, which as you know is a huge thing to build with your patients! From then on out I requested her every time I knew she was working, I knew she was cheering me on! It was because of her persistence and loving way of challenging myself to get better all while being there with me every step of the way while I made strides of improvement on her shifts!

It’s amazing what a caring and thoughtful nurse can help for your healing, especially in the times we’re in today when you can’t have your family with you! What I find amazing through all of this is she never stopped thinking about ways to help me, and her other patients I can only imagine. She would go home and think about a different way to approach my nausea, and when she would come back to work the next night she would tell me her thoughts and help me develop a strategy to get through the night! I know at least one time she stayed longer to help the day shift because of being short-staffed! She is an all-around genuine person and I would hands-down trust her with taking care of my life 100 times over! You have an amazing nurse working for you, a nurse that you wouldn’t be able to tell that we’re in the middle of a pandemic, and short-handed everywhere! After that night, she became the person that represented “family” for me; the one who eased my worries and sorrows, who pushed me to better myself in the most loving way possible. Thank you for standing in the gap as “family” during this crazy time we’re in! I will always remember you, and so will my family!
