In the many different roles Trish has held, from the bedside to the boardroom, she has remained a beacon of inspiration for so many.
The DAISY Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes nurses who have devoted their life's work to the compassionate care of others. A nurse is a nurse, no matter where they go or what role they are in. Trish, who began her nursing career in a Hawaiian Emergency Department in early 1990, quickly moved onward and upward in her career, ultimately reaching an extraordinary new level as a Senior Vice President.

In the many different roles Trish has held, from the bedside to the boardroom, she has remained a beacon of inspiration for so many. Trish has supported many frontline staff and leaders in their professional development, whether it was going back to school for an advanced degree or sharing words of encouragement to step out of someone's comfort zone to learn something new.

With any harm event or near-miss harm event, Trish always wanted to know how we were going to lead through this. What I know she meant is how are we learning from this and what are we doing to prevent this from happening again? Trish has consistently held everyone to the highest of standards for patient care, regardless of title or position. Holding the topmost level of authority in the hospital never distracted Trish from what truly matters; patients and those who care for patients. It is said that leadership is not a position, rather it is a service in inspiring or influencing others.

Trish started at South Sacramento in 2010 and has transformed this medical center into a place of partnership, comradery, and most importantly, family. Trish is leaving a legacy behind her, one that empowers everyone to do better, and to be better, all in the name of service excellence. Trish, you are Simply the Best! Congratulations on your new adventure, Your South Sac family is so proud of you! #SSCpride.
