Tracy got in touch with us the day that we were given the news that our baby's heart had stopped beating, and has been there for us ever since. Her support has been absolutely invaluable to us. She has visited us at home several times, called me almost every day in the days running up to G's funeral, told us about places where we could access counselling and additional support, attended G's post mortem, offered us the chance to spend another day with G at a hospice (we declined the offer but we're incredibly grateful to be offered the opportunity), and also took casts of G's hands and feet for us - something we will forever treasure. She also helped us when we were struggling to get in touch with Bereavement Services. Tracy arranged a meeting for us with her boss to discuss our experience and to provide feedback, attended our consultant meeting in which we were given the post mortem results, stayed with us afterward to answer any questions we may have had, and also called me the day after to see how I was feeling. Tracy really seemed to understand and empathise with us, and she really helped us navigate our early days of grief. She has always been there for us and I will never forget this. I would like to thank her with all our hearts. A midwife goes into midwifery to bring life into the world, and it takes an exceptionally precise person to comfort a mummy who has delivered a sleeping baby. Tracy is one of those people.
