Tina gave a note to my family for me to read when I woke up. It was a quick professional and sweet message again very compassionate and encouraging.
I had my first baby in 2018 and from the moment I met Tina Lopez, I trusted her. I ended up having a severe and life-threatening postpartum hemorrhage just after the birth of my first baby. Tina was by my side throughout the entire process working swiftly and providing exceptional service and compassion, all while explaining everything to my family and myself. When I needed emergency surgery, I remember looking at a nurse asking her in tears, “Where is Tina, I need Tina.” The nurse looked at me and said Tina was at the end of her shift charting and told me to hold on while she ran out of the room. A few minutes later right before the anesthesiologist went to administer medication to put me to sleep Tina appeared. She was very compassionate and reassuring at the same time, there are no words what having her there meant to me especially since my husband could not be there in the room for this. She held my hand until I was asleep and in surgery. I woke up in the ICU the next morning, intubated (and awake). Tina had stayed as long as she could and when she left for the evening, she gave a note to my family for me to read when I woke up. It was a quick professional and sweet message again very compassionate and encouraging.

About 21 months later I was preparing for the birth of my second child and one of the main requests I was hoping and praying that was met was that somehow Tina would be the nurse for me again. I was so thankful that Tina ended up being my nurse again for my second birth! Tina was extremely calm and professional while making me feel human, exactly how I remembered her. When walking to the OR we had to make a stop at the desk where there was a call that came in saying that the only very important blood fraction that I would accept if I were to hemorrhage again was not packed in saline, it was packed in plasma (so it had major blood components that I do not accept in it). Tina as well as the doctor firmly stood with me by my decision not to accept blood or any major blood components and treated this situation and ultimately my decision with the utmost respect (most people challenge me on this decision or make me feel like I am wrong while trying to talk me into taking blood). Tina stood up for my decision during this phone call and I felt so supported. We continued on with the other contingency plans we had made and thankfully I had a wonderful second experience with no hemorrhage. Tina was everything to my husband and me during my births. She went above and beyond in my care both times and I know I am truly blessed to have had one of the best nurses EVER! Thank you for having her on your staff, she is a light in times of darkness, and very humble as well.
