Terri cared for my mom during a 3 day stay in the ICU. Very sadly and after this unexpected medical emergency, my mom passed away. It was a torturous time as we watched the doctors try to do everything they could to save her as we kept a constant vigil at her bedside and in the ICU waiting room. But having a nurse like Terri brought us more comfort than you can imagine and we could not have been more impressed and grateful for the treatment that Terri provided to my mom. She was kind, patient, respectful, and caring. She truly exemplified all that a nurse should be in the way she approached my mom, supported our family, and allowed us to hope and to grieve. Not only was she caring towards my mom but she was supportive, understanding, and caring of our whole family as well - as 20 of us relayed in and out of the room to be with my mom and to support my dad who was a constant at her bedside. Words cannot express the amount of gratitude we felt for the way Terri cared for my mom in her last days and I wholeheartedly nominate her for the DAISY Award as a way to show her how much we appreciated her efforts. Thank you so much, Terri.

My mom was in ICU several weeks ago. She was there from Friday morning until she passed away late Sunday afternoon. Though we are deeply saddened by our loss the care comfort and empathy that Terri showered on us throughout 2-1/2 up-and-down days is something I'll never forget. As our family gathered by the bedside Terri continuously kept us updated and even let us stretch the 2-visitors-in-the-room rule for part of the time knowing that we all needed to be together as a family. My dad, a retired MD, was extremely distraught as he watched his heavily sedated wife of 65 years, fight for her life, and Terri treated him with the utmost compassion respect and comfort which was also very comforting to all of us. When I arrived at the hospital on Sunday Terri told me how relieved she was to see my dad still at mom's bedside when she arrived for her shift that morning adding that she worried about my mom herself all night. There are healthcare professionals and then there are healthCARE professionals. Look up care in the dictionary and you just may see a picture of Terri. I really can't express in words just how fortunate we were to have Terri caring for my mom during her final days on earth. Thank you, Terri!
