My daughter was at Banner Baywood for a double jaw surgery. Taryn introduced herself and chatted with my daughter and me, to make her feel more comfortable. My daughter’s mood changed considerably. Taryn assured her that she would be comfortable and in great care. She asked her what kind of music she wanted to hear in the operating room as she was going to sleep. When Taryn took my daughter back to the OR, she played a Mac Miller song at my daughter’s request and sang with her, to make her feel at ease. Later, after surgery, I ran into Taryn in the cafeteria. She shared with me how great my daughter did during the surgery and how sweet she was. She called her beautiful and agreed that the surgery would have a great outcome. I was so thankful for Taryn’s kind and reassuring words. We had a lot of anxiety going into this surgery. I was so worried about my daughter but Taryn put me at ease. I was so grateful that she was with her throughout the surgery. I asked Taryn if I could buy her lunch. I insisted but she would not let me! She ended up buying ME lunch instead! She said it was “great to meet good people.” I agree that Taryn is a good person and obviously enjoys her profession. She demonstrated to me that she genuinely cares about her patients.
