It was an ordinary day when Ms. Suaida came to duty at around 0630 when she found an unconscious lady lying on the floor in the prone position at the ground floor near the main entrance of ACS. She immediately asked help from the Security Personnel (the Security Guard called the EMS) who was near and immediately checked the carotid pulse of the patient. According to her, the pulse was weak so she placed the patient in the supine position with the help of the bystanders, and loosen up the patient's hair cover and remove the face cover. Ms. Suaida instructed the bystanders not to leave the patient, while she ran inside the building of ACS to take the crash cart. She went to the first floor and brought and carried the oxygen tank from the crash cart by herself and immediately administered O2, and she ran again inside the ACS building and took the electronic BP app and checked the vital signs of the patient including the carotid pulse. She called EMS again, and after 3 minutes the ambulance arrived. Ms. Suaida went with the patient to the ED and never left the patient until she became conscious. I received a call from Ms. Suiaida at around 0655 in the office and she informed me that she was in ED with the patient and she asked me to keep the Electronic BP app to Ortho Clinic which she left at the entrance of ACS. That's the only time I came to know the incident happened that day.
When she came back to the office at around 0730, I saw her perspiring and her uniform was dirty at the knee and she showed some signs of some exhaustion from saving the unknown patient's life. At around 1000 she called up the ED and followed up the patient's status and the unknown patient was discharged ambulatory and in good condition.
She is an Extraordinary Nurse, a person who never had a second thought of saving the life of a stranger at any time, any place. Ms. Suaida displays readiness and preparedness in response to emergency situations that arise. As a colleague, I am proud of her great job.
