Steven was nominated for the excellent assessment skills and patient care he provided to one of his patients.

The patient had arrived to Steven's unit in the early evening appearing calm and alert. Steven continued to regularly assess the patient and began noticing diminished lung sounds and he contacted Respiratory Therapy to assess the patient. He contacted the physician and continued to assess the patient and keep the family informed. Shortly thereafter, Steven recognized the patient was in distress and Steven called for assistance from the Rapid Response Team and contacted the physician. The patient was transferred to critical care and as the patient was being moved, the family thanked Steven for being so responsive and caring to their loved one.

Steven is an excellent asset to CoxHealth and we are privileged to have him on our nursing unit.
