I very much dislike going to ERs. After going to an ICC and being misdiagnosed, my symptoms continued to get worse. I sought treatment in the ER and had Stephanie as my nurse. From the moment I was placed in the room until I was discharged, she did everything to ensure I was comfortable and informed on what was going on or going to happen, or what tests we were waiting on. She checked on me frequently and kept the doctor updated on my progress. When my test results were in, she let me know the next steps. I left the ER feeling better than when I walked in. Even after working a 12-hour shift, she stayed late to ensure my care was continued to ensure my comfortability was maintained.

I can't list many people who would stay longer than their scheduled shift to ensure their patients are okay from start to finish. This selfless act showed more compassion for patients and patient care than I've ever experienced. She truly is an amazing and compassionate nurse.
