It is not just exceptional skills but Shireen's bedside manner and support of all staff that is exceptional.
Shireen was born a nurse. Her kindness and compassion are her trademark features, and even through the most difficult of times on 6SE, she is cheery and empathetic. Especially at the beginning of COVID, she was optimistic and supportive to patients and staff and always ready to lend a hand back in COVID containment.

Shireen is an amazing nurse! She is amazing in how she supports patients by being an exceptional charge and simultaneously supporting staff to do their best for the patient. She keeps watch and ensures patients are advocated for and supported in getting appropriate and timely care. She is amazing in how she supports all nurses regardless if she is charge because she is always there to support someone whether that is with kind words, snacks, problem-solving a situation, or literally beside you turning and caring for your patient. She is knowledge support for both new RNs and very experienced nurses, helping us to be our best in both person and our profession. It is not just exceptional skills but Shireen's bedside manner and support of all staff that is exceptional. I have witnessed Shireen be bedside with a critical patient, transfer them to the ICU, then support the family's emotional needs. Few realize what behind the scenes work she has done to help that patient and family; such as asking questions of providers to clarify, she encourages providers to consider care options that she has learned about through many years of experience, as well as being there and learning about the patient from the patient's perspective.
