Shantanel printed over 20 colored pictures of the event and posted them on a sparkly gold poster board with the Shreveport Fire Emblem.
Shantanel has been caring for a patient with a life ending diagnosis. She has become part of the family and is very special to us all. This patient is a fireman and dearly loved by his work family. The fire department organized a tribute to the patient by bringing all of the fire trucks and ambulances to our Ministry at Highland to have a prayer service. The patient is very weak and was not able to see the display of true respect and recognition to their colleague, “A Keep Fighting Tribute to a Down Firefighter”. Shantanel took it upon herself to take pictures of the event. After a long day at work, she went home and printed over 20 colored pictures of the event and posted them on a sparkly gold poster board with the Shreveport Fire Emblem. She even went as far as delivering the same day. The family was so overwhelmed with her gift to her patient. Shantanel truly made the CHRISTUS difference and made us cry tears of pride for the care she provided.

We are so lucky to have her with us in this Ministry. Shan called me yesterday to tell me and she made me tear up. She is absolutely wonderful and I know has made a huge difference for the patient and family. Since Shantanel has joined the CHRISTUS team she has been recognized by both patients and coworkers for going above and beyond. She is very attentive with a strong attention to detail. She not only connects with each of her patients but she is eager to learn more and does not mind asking questions to better her understanding.

Shan recently was recognized for providing excellent care during a very difficult time for a family who lost their loved one she cared for. This was difficult for her and I could see how helpless she felt even though she kept them as comfortable as possible. In the final hours of this patient's life, she took family photos and had them developed one night at the end of her shift. She came back the next day to give the family a poster of all the photos for them to remember in those final hours. This is the CHRISTUS difference! She lives and breathes our core values day in and night out. We are truly blessed to have Shan as part of our ministry! She answered the calling that Jesus has called her to do! I am so proud of her!
