Shannon was our very first impression when we came in to have our first baby. We were experiencing a rush of emotions and fear of what was to come. Shannon made us feel incredibly safe upon admission. She impressed both my husband and me beyond expectation but unfortunately, her shift ended shortly after we arrived. The next morning at shift change we requested Shannon as our nurse as my husband knew how safe she made me feel and we really wanted her assistance with our delivery.
Not only did she provide an amazing birthing experience for me, but she also provided the same for my husband too. Almost 5 days have passed and while we are still in the NICU with our baby, we cannot stop talking about how amazing Shannon was. Shannon's kindness and who she is as a person and nurse are a testament to this organization.
The example I would like to share about Shannon's kindness as follows. Well, I fell asleep during labor which slowed down my labor progression quite a bit. When they brought in Pitocin to give to me, I asked for more time because I wanted to have a natural delivery. Shannon, knowing this, really encouraged me to move around and help get labor going.
One of the highlight moments for me was after labor. I had to go to the bathroom to clean off, and I was a mess. She made me feel SO comfortable. She had no issues getting me in order to clean me up. She continued to tell me how great I did during labor the entire time she was helping me. I kept apologizing because I felt so bad that she had to get so messy to help me and she continued to tell me how it was worth it.
