Scott Samuels had been a nurse in the ICU at Swedish First Hill before he came recently to 10 SW where I was a patient recovering from sepsis and rapid heartbeat. He was an excellent nurse in that he was familiar with my health issues because he studied them beforehand and therefore knew how to treat my case. He was very compassionate and helpful with lots of advice about what to do when I got home. Once when I bent down to pick something up off the floor after telling him I felt a little dizzy, he said very nicely, Please do me a favor and don't bend down if you are feeling dizzy because it could affect your heart. It was something I hadn't realized. He was looking out for my safety. When my husband came to take me home Scott spent a little time talking to him about the medicines I had been getting and the care. I felt comfortable with him and knew I was in good hands. Before I left the hospital, he made sure I was going to get the antibiotics I needed from my pharmacy on Mercer Island.
