Sam comes to me often with suggestions on how we can make the patients' experiences better – more humane, gentler. Her passion truly lies in figuring out what she can do to ease the burden on patients and families.
I came to the Alvord Brain Tumor Center six months ago as their clinic manager. What I immediately noticed about Sam is her dedication and devotion to serving our patients. She brings her heart to work every day and instinctively thinks about the patient as the whole person. With that, she thinks through how we can add positivity and compassion to the patients' cancer stories. She comes to me often with suggestions on how we can make the patients' experiences better - more humane, gentler. She thinks at a higher level, not just focused on the task at hand. Her passion truly lies in figuring out what she can do to ease the burden on patients and families. She is a great critical thinker and is very knowledgeable regarding symptomology. She is able to take her intelligent knowledge and communicate it in ways that are easily understood by lay patients and their families. Above all, she readily connects with patients and communicates to them on a daily basis how much she truly cares about them and how much she wants to help them. Sam is a true gem, and we are proud to have her on our team.
