Riley has been such a great nurse these past couple of nights. She is on top of everything.
Riley has been recognized by numerous patients for the great care they receive from her. The patients not only speak of her knowledge, patience, and professionalism, but they speak to the way her care makes them feel. Here are some of the most recent patient testimonies:

Riley has been such a great nurse these past couple of nights. She is on top of everything. She checks on me often and really makes me feel like she cares about me. She really picked the right job! She is an excellent nurse.

Riley was my night nurse. She took the time to explain everything to me in a way that I understood. She was so nice and made me feel safe.

I would like to thank everyone for the great care that I have received. I would especially like to thank and recognize Riley for going above and beyond. She is great!

The patients are not the only people that recognize Riley. She receives recognition from staff on other units. She can provide excellent care to an 80-year-old orthopedic patient one shift, a rehab unit stroke patient the next shift, and follow it up with a neonate the third shift. Very few nurses have this range of knowledge and skill set.

Riley was recently recognized by the Rehab Unit for her help with a Rapid Response patient on the fourth floor. She was working on the third floor, heard the overhead call, and came to see if she could help. They spoke to how glad they were that she came to help the patient and knew what to do and helped them deliver the best care to the patient.

Taking it to the next level, Riley reported an issue with overriding IV Ativan and helped get the medication added to the PYXIS on units to prevent future delays. She not only reported the problem but stayed over another shift to see if the reported issue was corrected. I have had the opportunity to work with Riley since she was a new graduate. She was Rookie of the year her first year. She will always give input and suggestions to make our unit better. She will stay over after her shift to pass on information that she feels is important to providing the best care for our patients. She follows up, checks all the boxes, and genuinely cares about being the best that she can be. She is not often in the charge nurse role, but when she is she never forgets to round and document on the patients. As Riley’s manager, I can truly say I have confidence in her and as the patients and staff she works with say, I feel ‘safe’ when she is working.
