Rhealyn knew that the patient needed help, so out of her own initiative and good intention, she and her friends volunteered to buy her some personal things that she would need on her way home.
Rhealyn was on her leave days when she came to know that one of their underprivileged patients was to be repatriated to her home country. She knew that the patient needed help, so out of her own initiative and good intention, she and her friends volunteered to buy her some personal things (clothes, underwear, and toiletries) that she would need on her way home. Rhealyn never fails to think about the welfare of her patients, on and off duty. Because of that, the patient was made very happy and it was priceless to see such a beautiful smile on her face on the day of her discharge date.

Also, there was a time when she was assigned to admit a Covid-19 patient in an area of “green zone-red zone”. The patient looked anxious and scared at that time so she never left her patient and ensured that she was okay. She spent a considerable amount of time (6 hours) inside the patient’s room comforting her as well as providing her the emotional support needed, despite the big challenge of wearing PPE inside the red zone for such a long period. Moments like this truly highlight what an Extraordinary Nurse Rhealyn Obrique is.
