Passion/Personal: Renee's passion for nursing education is evident by her non-stop efforts to support her students and her own continual education pursuits. Renee displays her passion when she volunteers for enhanced faculty and student initiatives. Renee is personally seeking ways to improve student outcomes by hosting a weekly meeting with fellow peers to discuss ideas that will allow for significant impacts. Renee confidently shares ideas and feedback that demonstrates a passion for her nurse educator role. Renee cares for her students and that is evident when she asks for clarification or updates on policies, etc.

Empathy/Excellent/Enthusiastic: Renee has strong interprofessional skills that she uses to support students during any unexpected need with empathy. Renee provides extraordinary support for students who have faced extreme challenges, especially in the past year. Renee builds rapport with her students and fellow faculty members by staying connected and showing interest in how they are doing/feeling. Renee motivates in her nurse educator role with her positive energy and encouragement for the student's success. Renee will serve her students enthusiastically if uncommon needs arise; Renee does not act as if "that's not my job". Empathy for her students allows Renee to assist in finding a solution or a resource. Renee is often the first volunteer for any new initiatives and opportunities to learn.

Trust/Teamwork: Renee displays her team player attitude by hosting a weekly meeting for fellow team members who want to come with questions and ideas. Renee is very willing and actively participates in team projects such as fun committee ideas, mentor huddles, and task forces. Renee values a team and forms a trusting relationship with each of her students. Renee also attends required trainings and share insights about those trainings. Renee is a professional collaborator who has gained the trust of her students by providing them updates when changes are occurring. Renee also helps to find resources quickly if a student or colleague is looking for something in particular. Renee is generous in covering for colleagues when they take time off.

Accountable/Acts: Renee shows up for her colleagues and her students. She is present and works varying hours to serve the needs of her students. She participates on committees that require exceptional professionalism and accountability. She shares how she helps students overcome obstacles, which then motivates other team members to make changes or improve practices. Renee identifies areas that need improvement and/or potential problems and will seek action to provide resolutions. Renee is an expert at student resources and making sure her students have what they need.

Leader/Learner: Renee is a lifelong learner herself, so that motivates her students and her colleagues to keep on earning. Renee once was quiet within a group, but now she uses her voice often; the professional growth is evident. Renee stays current on methodologies and practices for nursing education. Renee provides students and peers with effective, non-partial feedback consistently. Renee is a leader, mentor, coach, and educator providing her students with recognition and encouragement throughout their journey as a WGU student.

Selflessness/Student Centric or Student Obsessed: Renee remains fair and unbiased with student interactions. I have had the privilege to call shadow Renee and her students appreciate her very much. Renee treats everyone with respect. Renee is selfless by serving her students outside of her office hours at times. Renee also goes above and beyond the expectations of a mentor by serving on committees and task forces. Renee assesses student needs and outcomes continually while looking for ways to improve outcomes. She welcomes diversity and has positive interactions with her students. She engages respectfully with each communication. She remains student obsessed while considering policies and key results.
