Renee has been very helpful and flexible with her employees. She is always there to help when needed and when we are understaffed she steps up and works that shift. She rarely has a negative thing to say and always puts the patients' needs first. I have worked under Renee for almost two years and she has been the best manager I have had.
On countless times I have come into work and she has been there working as a nurse because we did not have the staff to work and she didn't want to leave her nurses shorthanded.

Renee continues to demonstrate many strengths as a leader. She makes every effort to meet the individual needs of the associates she serves while meeting the needs of all. Renee readily takes on other assignments such as assisting with Connection Café, instructing Nursing Associates at Skills Fair, and conducting mock tracers in other departments. Renee is an excellent teacher in addressing those skills that are unique to rehabilitation nursing such as addressing both the medical management of the patient and the functional needs of the patient so the patient may successfully return to the community. She is also great at teaching certification classes in the Functional Independence Measure and developing a plan of care that incorporates rehabilitation principles. Lastly, Renee is excellent at onboarding new associates by ensuring that their individualized learning needs are met and making sure that they feel ready to take on their new role(s). Renee is truly an asset to both CHRISTUS Inpatient Rehabilitation Center and to CHRISTUS Shreveport-Bossier Health System.

Renee seems to consistently carry out her nursing leadership role with compassion and commitment. She steps up and serves in many ways ensuring that her team is remembered and valued even with their move off-site.

Renee was faced with moving her unit geographically outside of the hospital. What made that especially hard was this would be the 3rd move for her team inside of 3 years. And just when they were feeling a part of the campus and enjoying the camaraderie that comes with being on campus as an inpatient unit. Now they would be in a stand-alone facility across town from the hospital - almost like an island unto themselves. Renee did an outstanding job of moving her team through the emotional journey as well as the physical journey. Today, her team loves their new location and would tell you that they even though removed from the campus, they do not feel as disconnected as they thought they would from the CHRISTUS family. This only couldhappen because of Renee's efforts as their leader.
